About the DAPpers documentary

“Dance for All People” is an exploration into the healing properties of dance and medicine, as well as evidence that aging can be vibrant. We follow members of the DAPpers (Dance for All People) in a season of healing, learning, moving, and building community. We will follow ensemble members on their road to performance collaborating with professional and youth ensembles. Through captivating documentary footage of class, personal interviews, and public performances we witness the camaraderie built among an intergenerational group of people. We learn about the powerful leadership of founding director, Rachel Balaban, and step into the thoughts of medical students and how their participation drives new ways of thinking for the development of their medical practice. It is a testament to why the arts are so important as a partner in the health field.
